Pennfield Charter Township Code Enforcement & Compliance

The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcing Township Ordinances that range from property maintenance issues to zoning requirements. The Code Enforcement Officer reports directly to the Township Supervisor. Complaints received range from abandoned vehicles, tall weeds, illegal fences, trash, and zoning violations. When calling to make a complaint, you must include details of the complaint and the complete address of the property. The Code Enforcement Officer will inspect the property and if a violation is discovered, a notice will be sent to the property owner.

Common Complaints

For complaints regarding the following subjects, please contact the Township Code Enforcement Officer:

Junk Vehicles

Unlicensed, inoperable, dismantled and/or abandoned vehicles are not allowed anywhere unless housed within a garage.

Unsanitary Conditions

Trash, debris, miscellaneous junk, improper storage etc., is not permitted.

Illegal Storage

Motorhomes, travel trailers, snowmobiles, and boats may be stored in the rear or side yards only. Commercial vehicles, in excess of 2 tons, may not be stored anywhere on residential property.

Weed Complaints

Weeds on developed lots that exceed six (6) inches in height are in violation of township ordinance.
