Hours of Operation: 7:00 AM to Dusk
Spring clean up well be starting next week (4/11/2021) along with winter decoration.

Two (2) items only, may be placed in the cemetery from MAY 1ST of each year and are to be removed by NOVEMBER 1ST of that year. Items not removed by the lot owners will be removed and disposed of. These items are to be placed to the left or right at the ends of markers only. If no marker, place in line with other markers. Decorations will be permitted for holidays falling outside of these dates, but only for one (1) week prior and one (1) week following the holiday. Veteran flags shall be governed by the Veterans Administration rules and guidelines.
Evergreens (wreaths, grave blankets, etc.) may be placed on the graves from NOVEMBER 1ST until MARCH 1ST of the next year. Items not removed by lot owners will be removed and disposed of.
NO LANDSCAPING to be done on the graves. This includes planting of flowers, trees and shrubs.

Donate a Tree
Pennfield Township will be accepting donations for the additional planting of trees on the east side of the cemetery. In return, a contribution marker will be placed at the base of the tree (there will be a variety of trees to choose from) in memory of a loved one or ones who may be buried at the cemetery. AN ORDINANCE TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, AND GENERAL WELFARE BY ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE OPERATION, CONTROL, MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF CEMETERIES OWNED, CONTROLLED OR OPERATED BY PENNFIELD CHARTER TOWNSHIP IN CALHOUN COUNTY, MICHIGAN; TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE, AND TO REPEAL ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.

Donate a Park Bench
Pennfield Township has come up with a way to save money for Hicks Cemetery. Instead of buying products such as tables, benches, bike racks, trash receptacles and message boards using taxpayer dollars why not allow individuals, companies and charity groups the opportunity to donate these products to the cemetery grounds.
